UNDERSTANDING YOUR COVER OPTIONS

What Can Business Insurance Cover?

Business insurance isn't necessarily a single policy. Depending on your operations, a business insurance package can combine selected types of cover to address property damage, liability, theft and other business risks.

Property Damage

Cover for certain insured loss or damage to business premises, contents, stock and other insured property.

Business Interruption

Cover for certain lost income and additional operating expenses following an insured interruption, subject to policy conditions.

Theft & Money

Selected cover for theft of insured business property, stock or money, subject to security conditions, limits and exclusions.

Public & Products Liability

Cover for certain legal liabilities arising from third-party injury or property damage connected with insured business activities or products.

Glass & Signage

Cover for specified accidental breakage of insured glass, including shopfront windows, internal glass and signage where included.

Machinery Breakdown

Cover may be available for certain sudden and unforeseen breakdowns of insured machinery and equipment.

Electronic Equipment

Selected cover for insured damage or breakdown involving computers, electronic equipment and other specified business technology.

General Property

Cover options for portable business property, including tools, laptops and equipment used away from your premises.

Goods in Transit

Cover may be available for specified loss or damage to insured goods while being transported, subject to the applicable policy.

Employee Dishonesty

Selected cover for direct financial losses arising from specified fraudulent or dishonest acts by employees, subject to policy conditions.

Tax Audit

Cover may be available for certain professional fees incurred when responding to an audit or investigation by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) or other eligible government authorities, subject to policy terms, limits and exclusions.

Deterioration of Stock

Cover may be available for the loss or deterioration of perishable stock, resulting from specified events including refrigeration equipment breakdown or temperature changes, subject to policy terms, limits and exclusions.

Cyber Insurance

Designed to help protect your business from the financial impact of computer hacking or a data breach.

Management Liability

Cover for certain claims and financial losses arising from business management activities, including employment disputes, directors' and officers' liability, employee dishonesty and specified statutory liabilities, subject to policy terms and exclusions.

Workers Compensation Cover

If you’re a business owner, it’s easy to assume that accidents won’t happen at your workplace. Employers are required by law to take steps to ensure their workplaces are safe. This includes having workers’ compensation insurance for all their employees.

Corporate Travel Insurance

Can protect your business from financial loss associated with situations such as overseas health emergencies, flight cancellations or lost and stolen baggage.

Cover availability depends on the insurer, policy and business activities. Not all sections are included automatically. Some covers, including cyber, professional indemnity and management liability, may require separate policies.
